Here we can setup the basic branding for the site. This covers the site title and tagline, the small icon in the browser tab and the main logo for the site.
We can see the site title can appear i the menu bar as well as the large site header. The tagline can be displayed in the large page header, as well. All of these placements are turned ‘on’ when we begin, but each can be turned off in the typography section, if desired.
The site icon can be anything we want, but will often be similar to the logo. It is important to make sure it is legible as a small icon.
A logo is highly recommended as it helps your audience easily and visually recognize and identify you or your business. This can be an official logo or, in the case of a blogger, even just initials. The recommended logo size is 512px x 512px but most sizes will work fine. A cropping tool is provided after you select the image. Round or Square are most common, but any shape will work.
If a logo is not desired, this function can be turned off using the “Show/Hide…” button.
There are many settings to control the placement of the log. A sizing tool helps make an overly-large logo a more common 100px or so. Other tools include special tools for rounding the bottom of the frame to match the shape of the logo, padding can provide white space around the logo and vertical and horizontal movement allows us to get the logo sitting perfectly.
